The COO of Atlantic Sports Group (a Turf company) happens to be a good friend of one of our Tobin teachers. This teacher reached out to her friend for "left over" turf mats for her children to sit on while out on the hard patios. The company quickly supplied this classroom with enough mats for the inperson students. When Jamie Frost saw them she inquired in purchasing some for the rest of the school. Atlantic Sports group quickly responded with "We will supply what you need at no charge, just tell us the number you need. We just want to help the students". Last week 144 grass mats arrived at our school. Here are some pictures of the children enjoying their time outside.

This is the 284 Writers Workshop lesson in using shapes to create pictures for our stories.

Inspired by the current math theme, shapes, Room 283 students went for The Shape Walk outside. They were looking for various shapes, from the familiar ones such as circles, triangles, squares, and rectangles, to the challenging ellipsoids, ovoids and trapezoids. There were so many interesting shapes on the playground and around the Tobin building! The Shape Walk connected the knowledge of the shapes the students learned about in the classroom and the world.

Here are some photos of our new log stools in the 284 patio. Big thanks to our volunteers Chris and Ted Tolles, father and grandfather to Eowyn in Room 284!
