Montessori Program

boys reading

Montessori education, based on the research of Italian physician Dr. Maria Montessori, is focused on nurturing each child's potential by providing learning experiences that support their intellectual, physical, emotional and social development. Montessori is an individualized, child-centered learning process that empowers children to be independent. It offers self-correcting, hands on activities in a carefully prepared mulit-age environment that promote freedom and self-discipline that arise from within. In addition to language and mathematics, the Montessori Curriculum also covers practical life, sensorial, science and culture. Our aim is to empower children by teaching them to do things themselves rather than to do things for them. Children learn self-discipline and care for self, each other and the environment. In Montessori, children learn at their own pace, and learn in the ways that work best for them as individuals. The goal is to be flexible and creative in addressing each student as a unique individual.
