International Peace Day

Last week, Room 282 celebrated International Peace Day by creating their very own Peace Book! They were inspired after reading The Peace Book by Todd Parr. After reading the story, the children took turns brainstorming and sharing what peace means to them. Each child then took a picture, drew, labeled, or wrote about what "Peace is...". Ms. Megan and Ms. Alissa then took all of the pages and created a virtual book to share with families.

Here are some of the things the children in 282 find peaceful:
"Peace is...reading a book." -Nina (top left)
"Peace is...giving someone a birthday present." -Earl (bottom left)
"Peace is...kindness and hugs." -Henry (top/bottom right)

Locations for Learning

Room 283 students and teachers had a discussion about learning virtually and creating a quiet and comfortable place where everybody could do his or her best. We call such place location for learning. You can set up a place anywhere in your home, just make sure the environment will allow you to focus on your work and to feel connected.

The photos show examples of various locations for learning: Olivia and Paloma like to work at small tables, Samira works comfortably in a cosy place, Anya keeps her location for learning well organized.
