Staff Spotlight: Ms. LeAnn Roughley

Meet Our Cub's Corner Teacher Ms. LeAnn Roughley!   

Where did you grow up and what brought you to Tobin? 
I grew up in Florida, traveled around a bit for work, and have mostly been in Cambridge since 2000. 
I had a small events company for several years and we did a lot of community outreach with kids. I especially loved interacting with our younger audiences and, after closing my business, I really wanted to continue working with children. Eventually I found positions with CPS and am now super happy to be with Cub’s Corner at Tobin! 

What is your favorite time of year? 
Winter is my absolute favorite, but fall is pretty great too!

Who was your favorite teacher at school and why?
My second grade teacher, Mrs. Lawrence, was the best! She was really positive and engaging, and she always encouraged us to do special projects about things that interested us. Mrs. Lawrence even sent me a little present when I graduated from high school - I still have it!

Skiing in Aspen or sunning in the tropics? 
Skiing for sure, but in Canada! We lived in Montreal for a year and really love the winter up there. 

What is a hobby you have outside of school? 
I love snow skiing, outdoor ice skating, snow tubing - anything in the snow really! And I make custom Halloween costumes every year for my two sons. I also love listening to audiobooks, especially mysteries. 

Favorite movie? 
Tough question! Classic Disney animated movies…and James Bond movies with Sean Connery. 

Dark or milk chocolate? 
Extra dark!
